How To Apply & Remove Press-On Nails
How to Apply Your PetalFinger Nails
Set aside about 10 minutes and work on clean, dry hands. Everything you need is in the box: 10 press-on nails, 24 adhesive tabs, a wooden cuticle stick and a mini buffing file.
1. Prep
Wash and dry your hands. Push back your cuticles with the wooden stick, then lightly buff the surface of each natural nail with the mini file. A clean, oil-free nail is the single biggest factor in how long a set lasts.
2. Match
Lay the nails out and match each one to the finger it was shaped for. Dry-fit before you stick anything down — the press-on should sit sidewall to sidewall without pressing into the skin.
3. Choose Your Tab
Pick the adhesive tab that matches the width of your nail, peel off the backing, and press it onto the underside of the press-on. Match the tab to the nail, not the finger — a tab that overhangs the edges will lift.
4. Press & Hold
Align the press-on at your cuticle line, press down from base to tip, and hold firmly for 30 seconds. Repeat on each nail. Most lifting comes from letting go too early, so give every nail the full 30 seconds.
How to Remove Them Safely
Never pull or pry a nail off — a gentle soak protects your natural nail and keeps the set reusable.
1. Soak
Soak your fingertips in warm, soapy water for 10–15 minutes to loosen the adhesive. A few drops of cuticle oil in the water help.
2. Lift
Using the wooden cuticle stick, gently lift each nail from the side. If it resists, soak for a little longer rather than forcing it.
3. Clean & Store
Peel away any leftover adhesive residue, wash your hands, and apply cuticle oil or hand cream. Clean the press-ons and store them in their tray to wear again — you will need a fresh adhesive tab next time.
